It's that time again kids!
Grab your girl and load a few friends up into the trunk of your Chevy because we are going back to the Shocker Internet Drive In.
This week we proudly present that low budget 1979 slasher/psycho classic - "Driller Killer". Of course we have included another Bugs Bunny cartoon as well as some "snack bar" teasers to get your taste buds going.
So drive on in, but we do reserve the right to check the trunk of your car for stowaways looking to skip buying a ticket. But, of course, our drive in is free so don't sweat the little stuff.
Grab a soda, a little popcorn, snuggle up with your favorite girl (or guy) and enjoy the show!

Subject: Surprisingly good
I didn't find this "so bad it's good"; I just found it good. It avoids the cliches and delivers on the suspense. It's well acted and stylishly shot. What a sleeper of a horror film.
An artist on the edge begins taking out his frustrations with a drill, on New York's homeless population. The movie takes its time showing that frustration building and then--amazingly--does not sexualize his killings once they start. This difference will leave some horror fans cold, but I found it refreshing not to see phallic drills burrowing into shapely sorority sisters. For once.
It helps that it shot on no budget--threadbare production often helps horror films, e.g. Night of the Living Dead. It also helps that the setting is dirty, dirty NYC in the 70s and that the director is patient with the material.
No kidding--pretty great stuff.

Subject: Well Done! Keep the Memories Alive
I'm giving this one 5 Stars mostly for the effort and the all of the authentic Auto Theatre promos and ads. Movie didn't have enough nudity to hold my attention...I left early...with speaker still attached!

Subject: That was just...Perfect.
Totally took me back. I had never seen the main feature, and it was just bad enough to be good.
The pre-punk era New York-ness of it was great for me, a California kid who kinda missed all that, untill it hit in the early 80s. Thanx!!
I love old flicks with flair
Having seen driller killer a few times this version makes it more enjoyable.i think it would've worked better as a double bill with drive in massacre, but as a stand alone film it fares pretty good.i really love the drive in recreations and i'm making another suggestion, how about;the killer shrews and the giant gila monster?
Subject: Great Shlocky Fun....
Another great Shocker Drive-In addition. You can almost smell the black-top and hear the crickets in each one!
Keep 'em comin'!!
Would love to see the monster beach movies double bill soon! (hint! hint!)
